Sunshine Coast Regional Morning Report ( Thursday 28th January 5:06am) A consistent Easterly swell continues to pour in waves up into the head high range with larger set waves across the open beaches this morning. The northern stretches from Marcoola to Sunshine are having fair wave quality with it being somewhat unorganised, and wind affected being subject to ESE winds currently in play, similar conditions along Kawana and cleaning up more as you towards those southern corners. An incoming tide (High Tide Maroochydore 7:50am @2.1m) will not be doing us any favours, so expect the waves to get be alot slower and fuller particularly on the north facing points. Good options early are Coolum and The Bays, Maroochydore south along to Alex, The Bluff, Point Cartwright, with Wurtulla south to Neill Street and Moffs on the South Coast. Get into early under the lighter winds.
Rest of the Day Outlook: Easterly swell will continue through the day, subject to lighter ESE winds earlier on with surf conditions and wave quality deteriorating as the ESE winds start to freshen. The open beaches will have the most size, but will be rather wind affected, with the north facing points being more favorable, offering cleaner waves, with a lot of water between the tides, (Low Tide Maroochydore 2:24pm @0.5m)
