Gold Coast Regional Morning Report: 6.15am Thursday, 28th January: Easterly tradewind swell looks like it's eased a tad overnight, still holding around the chest to head-high mark on the sets, but it's not flash. Winds are already puffing out of the ESE at 10-15 knots, making for pretty textured, bumpy conditions along the exposed beaches, while producing smaller, cleaner options inside the points. Still, you could do worse than get wet.
Rest of the Day Outlook: Easterly swell keeps on coming at similar levels all day as freshening onshore ESE winds put paid to the prospect of clean surf, blowing out conditions at 10-20 knots. That leaves Byron and other sheltered bays and points as your best bet for a smaller, cleaner wave. The tide is on its way in to a 7.44am high and runs out to a 2.12pm low, and will return to an 7.54pm high. Have a great day.
