Wollongong Regional Surf Report: 6.40am Sunday, 17th January: Similar size and quality to yesterday. Turning a bit more in the SE swell direction that will favour more open breaks and magnets. knee to less than waist-high range with light SW breeze. Should improve with the incoming tide. Coming off a Low tide at 5.30 am and the next High tide at midday help to bump sets. Clean but small surf on offer.  Light land-breezes are seeing clean conditions, worth getting out for the early.

Rest of the Day Outlook:  Surf Forecast - 2 -3ft S swell am rising to 2 – 4ft S swell on 10 sec intervals. Stronger, mid-period south swell gradually builds, favouring south-facing spots for size. Early WNW to WSW winds see clean conditions ahead of a moderate/ fresh SSE to SE shift during the day.

Coastal Waters forecast -  Winds Northwest to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots tending south to southeasterly in the morning. Winds reaching up to 20 knots offshore south of Point Perpendicular in the late morning.

Swell Southerly 2 to 2.5 metres.

    Weather Mostly sunny.

    Tides. L 5.37am ( .53) H 12.00 (1.67) L 6.47pm ( .33)

A high-pressure system near the Bight extends a ridge through New South Wales, and is working with a strong low near New Zealand to produce strong winds over southern New South Wales waters. Another, weaker high lies off the northeast coast of New South Wales. A cold front will bring a gusty south to southwesterly change extending north everywhere along the coast Tuesday.
