  • Northern NSW Regional Morning Report, 6.45 am Saturday 31st October:

Onshore surfing conditions with an early north to northwest winds. A leftover ENE wind swell down another notch to about thigh to waist high. Increasing N Winds. Try the North protected corners and open beaches, onshore and bumpy on the points. The high tide is at 9 am and the low at 3 pm. Best early on the beaches with the big high tide in the morning but will deteriorate during the outgoing tide. Desperado conditions.

Rest of the Day Outlook: The NNE swell is expected to increase from 1-2ft in the morning to 1-3ft in the afternoon as winds freshen from the north, only just worth making the effort of the early morning high tide conditions. Make the most of it.

For some the modern short board will never make sense. To me there are elements of the past that are still viable today, when blended with all we have learnt in the past.
