Sydney regional surf report, 6.55am Thursday, 28th January: SSE windswell has picked up to a windblown head-high to a foot or two overhead across the more south-exposed spots, and it's wrapping at smaller, but better organised chest to head-high plus along the open beaches. Strong SSE winds at 15-25 knots are leaving little to the imagination, producing choppy, ragged conditions wherever you look.
Rest of the Day Outlook: Energetic, windblown SSE windswell gradually transitions SE in direction this arvo - and onshore winds will follow suite, making for a full day of junky, low-quality onshore conditions, so aim for the more sheltered southern corners for a half decent wave. The upside is sparsely crowded lineups and, well, plenty of fresh air. High tide is at 8.53am and it will run out to a 3.35pm low. Have a great day.
