Northern NSW Regional Morning Report: 7.10am Thursday, 28th January: Easterly tradewind swell looks like it's eased a tad overnight, still holding around the head-high mark on the sets, but it's not flash. Winds are already puffing out of the east up to 10 knots, making for pretty textured, bumpy conditions. Still, you could do worse than get wet.

Rest of the Day Outlook: Easterly swell keeps on coming at similar levels all day as freshening onshore ESE winds put paid to the prospect of clean surf, blowing out conditions at 10-20 knots. That leaves Byron and other sheltered bays and points as your best bet for a smaller, cleaner wave. The tide is on its way in to a 9.16am high and runs out to a 3.44pm low, and will return to an 9.26pm high. Have a great day.
