Regional morning report for Newcastle: 6.46 am Sunday 7th March: Long straight lines of southerly groundswell marching through this morning and packing some punch. Only the most protected southern corners and northern facing beaches are surfable. It's too big and straight everywhere else. Size-wise, it's bombing triple overhead plus and bigger at exposed spots grading smaller into protected corners. Only hit the water if you know what you're doing and are prepared to paddle to New Zealand. Winds are light SE, and creating a little bump. Tide is dropping out to a 10.46 am am Low
Rest of the Day Outlook: Swell looks to have already peaked and will ever so slightly wind back into the arvy, but not to the point where it's going to open up more surf options. Winds are light ESE and will swing onshore and into the NE by this arvy. Southern corners will be the only option as the swell but get in before the wind turns it sour. The tide runs in to a 4.47 pm High. Have a great day folks!
