John John Surfs Big Papoa
What do you do when they call yet another lay-day for the Rip Curl Pro, if yet another is massive swell and horrible winds, when the horizon is just big mess of wild ocean? Well if you’re John John, you go around the corner to Papoa and get amongst it. Young, Free, Alright! photographer was there and snapped a couple of frames of the session. “It was a pretty decent sized swell but super windy that it seemed like it was very hard to surf and get into them,” says Digby. That’s John John on the orange board with a crew of local chargers and possibly British hell-man Andrew Cotton.
